December Calendar


December Information

We hope everyone had a fun, restful Thanksgiving break!  Please sure to keep reading every night!  Your child should also be practicing their sight words and counting to 100.  Winter break will be here before we know it!  Enjoy the time with your family!!!

Here are some dates to remember this month:

December 24-31- No School


In reading this month we will be retelling familiar stories.  We will read different versions of The Gingerbread Man.  We will also answer questions using non-fiction books.

In math we will be measuring length and weight with cubes.  We will also continue to work on recognizing numbers and counting to 100.  We will use the hundreds chart and number lines to recognize 1 more/1 less.

In science we will learn about the needs of living things.  We will also learn about animal life cycles and the differences between adult and baby animals.

In social studies we will be learning about maps.  We will also talk about human made features.

November Information

November is a busy month!  We have parent conferences and lots of days off from school!  Check with your child’s teacher about your conference time and location.  Be sure to keep reading every night with your child!  They should be getting new guided reading books and library books every couple of days. 

Enjoy your time off with your child and have a great thanksgiving!

Here are some dates to remember this month:

November 2- no school
November 11- 1/2 day PARENT CONFERENCES!
November 12- 1/2 day
November 25- 1/2 day
November 26- no school
November 27- no school

In reading this month we will be asking and answering questions about books we read (be sure to ask your child questions while reading to them!)  We will also be identifying the author and illustrator of books we read.

In math we continue to count and recognize numbers up to 20. 

In science we will finish up learning about the 4 seasons, and then move on to exploring different types of seeds and plants.

In social studies we will begin learning about the Earth.  We will explore the globe and the different landforms.

October Calendar


October Information

It is hard to believe it is October already and a month of school has come and gone!  Library books and guided reading books should start coming home soon.  Please be sure to read them every night and bring them back the next day. 

Here are some dates to remember this month:

·       October 2- Half Day (dismissal at 12:55)
·       October 12- Open house (come see what we do all day!)
·       October 16- No School
·       October 30- fall party

In reading this month we will continue to identify the parts of a book (front cover, back cover, title).  We will also ask and answer questions about books we read.

In math we continue to count and recognize numbers. 

In science we will also continue to learn about the different types of weather and how it changes.


In social studies we will continue to learn about the United States symbols (Bald Eagle, Mount Rushmore, Statue of Liberty, the American Flag.)
